Mainastasia is a small in-home cattery.  We  live in O'Fallon, Missouri, which is located about 30 minutes from downtown St. Louis and the famous "Gateway Arch".  We have been breeding and showing Maine Coons since 1999.  We strive to breed healthy Maine Coon's with gentle, loving and sweet personalities.

Our breeding cats are tested for Feline Hip Dysplasia and screened for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) annually.

Screening our Maine Coons for HCM is performed by Dr. Hattie Bortnowski, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Internal Medicine).

Our cattery is registered with both the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) and The International Cat Association (TICA).

Disclaimer:  Screening our Maine Coons for HCM and FHD is currently the recommended method to aid in reducing the incidence of these genetic conditions in our cats.  Breeders  cannot guarantee that their cats will not have either of these conditions, however, Mainastasia can guarantee that we are dedicated to screening our breeding stock in a continued effort to produce healthy and sound Maine Coon cats to the best of our ability.

Kittens may go to their new homes around 12-14 weeks of age and after they have completed their litter box and scratching post training.  They will have had a health check-up at the vet and received their first series of vaccinations.

Please take time now to view our Contract  and our  Health Warranty which must be signed before receiving a kitten from us.

We neither recommend nor encourage the use of the FeLV or FIP vaccine.  Neither vaccine is necessary for indoor-only cats, and the FIP vaccine has not been proven to be preventative enough to warrant it's usage.

If you have any further questions about our cats please feel free to contact us by Email, or by phone at 636-294-4498

We are proud to be members of the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association, (MCBFA).

In addition to having yearly ultrasound color flow doppler screenings performed by a veterinary cardiologist, all of our breeding cats have tested negative for the MyBPC Mutation that was recently discovered by Dr. Kathryn Meurs, DVM.

More information about this mutation can be found here.
